Parliament passed draft Law on Amnesty in its second reading

The parliament of Georgia has approved the draft Law on Amnesty, with 77 in favor, 23 against.

After the discussion of the draft law ended, the speaker said that the amendments by the Georgian Dream are in line with the document by European Council President Charles Michel, and he called upon oppositionists to support them.

The draft law envisages the release of all defendants and convicts detained over 21-22 June developments unless they are accused of subjecting others to torture and inhumane treatment.
