The Special Penitentiary Service of Georgia has approved Ex-president Giorgi Margvelashvili's request for the permit to visit jailed Georgian ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili.
Giorgi Margvelashvili filed the request on Dec 20. In his letter, Margvelashvili explained that he wanted to visit Saakashvili to discuss the process of reconciliation initiated by Georgia's current president Salome Zurabishvili.
Mikheil Saakashvili said he stood ready to meet the ex-president.
