The Communication Service of the Presidential Administration explains the awarding of the winners of the National Prize and the Shota Rustaveli Prize.
"On December 29, 2021, the President of Georgia awarded the winners of the National Prize and the Shota Rustaveli Prize, which the relevant competition commissions revealed.
State Prize Competition Commissions work completely independently, and the President does not interfere in their activities and decisions.
The President of Georgia awards state bonuses in accordance with the Constitution, following the law. The President announces a competition for state awards and sets up competition commissions to identify the award winners.
The chairpersons and commission members are well-known representatives of the scientific, artistic, and literary spheres," reads the statement issued by the Communication Service of the Presidential Administration.
