Irakli Shotadze became Prosecutor General of Georgia the second time. 82 supporters, 0 - opposed, the legislature approved Shotadze's candidacy at the plenary sitting.

Irakli Shotadze has been in charge of the General Prosecutor's Office since 2015. He resigned, on May 31, 2018, during the Khorava Street murder trial.

Under the current legislation, the Parliament of Georgia elects the Prosecutor General for a six-year term.
