Shalva Papuashvili: Prisoners should not be singled out

"Prisoners should not be singled out," Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili said during a speech about Georgia's third president, Mikheil Saakashvili.

According to him, there is no conclusion of any qualified doctor who said that Mikheil Saakashvili could not be transferred to the 12th facility in Rustavi.

"Mikheil Saakashvili has completed a post-hunger rehabilitation course at the Gori Military Hospital.

It is a right and an obligation of the state that if there is no need to provide special medical services, the prisoner should remain in a penitentiary institution. This is an obligation for other prisoners as well. Prisoners should not be singled out," Shalva Papuashvili said.

Mikheil Saakashvili was transferred from Gori Military Hospital to Rustavi 12th Penitentiary on December 30.
