State Department: "It's a sad speculation"

"It is a sad speculation, as if the Prime Minister's visit to Estonia and Latvia was planned for August 8-9, the visit could not be planned on these dates, because these dates are of state importance for our country," Mari Narchemashvili, spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs states.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs works all year round on high-level visits to friends and partner countries (Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, President, Speaker of Parliament, etc.), including the Baltic States, which are active supporters and friends of Georgia. In general, high-level visits are announced to the public after the date is agreed between the parties in the visit planning process," said Mari Narchemashvili.
