Turkish President: Turkey views Georgia as a key to regional cooperation

''Turkey views Georgia as a key to regional cooperation. We believe we can carry out different activities which will strengthen our region, enhance its importance and ensure peace,'' Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said at the joint press conference with Georgian PM Irakli Gharibashvili.

In Erdogan's words, trilateral cooperation is of critical significance.

''Turkey supports all kinds of trilateral cooperation whether it be Georgia-Azerbaijan-Armenia or Georgia-Azerbaijan-Turkey cooperation. We also decided to hold a supreme strategic council meeting in the shortest possible time and tasked the foreign ministries of Turkey and Georgia to determine the date of the meeting. By applying the existing tools, we will take further steps. I do hope and believe that our views and meeting will contribute to and develop relations between us,'' Mr. Erdoghan declared.
