Zaza Gakheladze is free

The so-called President of South Ossetia, occupied by Tskhinvali Anatoly Bibilov, "pardoned" Zaza Gakheladze, illegally detained in Shida Kartli.

Bibilov's order was published today and is valid starting from today.

"He was released from further imprisonment," the document reads.

The State Security Service confirmed the information about Gakheladze's release to Report.ge.

On Jul 11, 2021, occupants wounded and abducted Georgian citizen Zaza Gakheladze in the vicinity of the Skhvilo Fortress after he allegedly disobeyed military men.

The so-called court of the occupied Tskhinvali region has sentenced Zaza Gakhaladze to 12 years and six months behind bars.
