Cancer-causing substance found in disinfectants

A study of medical products on the US market has found that some hand sanitizers contain benzene, which can cause cancer, Bloomberg reveals.

Benzene is known to have been found in disinfectants that appeared on the market after pandemic made other disinfectants disappeared from the market.

High levels of benzene were found in 17% of the 260 bottles tested by 168 brands. The maximum concentration of this substance was observed in 21 bottles. It is also known that most of the disinfectants with high benzene content were produced in China in the United States of America.
