Wall Street Journal writes that the USA government, aiming at coronavirus spread prevention, controls citizens’ movements with the help of their smartphones.

Over five hundred cities will be under such control. The received data will be stored on the Federal Department portal and will be accessible for local government. The edition reads that the government tries to foresee the further spread of COVID-19 by using this approach to undertake the relevant measures.

The edition emphasizes that the government will receive only information about the locations, the ID information, like name, telephone number, etc. will remain unidentified.

According to John Hopkins University's latest data, the number of confirmed coronavirus infected people in the United States exceeds 120 thousand; 2,229 people have died.
