73-year-old tests positive for coronavirus

Coronavirus cases have shot up to 83 in Georgia, with a 73-year-old having tested positive for the coronavirus in the Kutaisi clinic. Head Doctor of the clinic Teimuraz Nadiradze said that the patient arrived in Georgia from France and was instructed to self-isolate. In Nadiradze's words, the patient is suffering from pneumonia and is in critical condition.

As of the elderly patient's family members, they have also been in self-isolation and are now under observation. "They have come together but were self-isolated separately. I have just talked with epidemiologists who are now studying the situation, tracing the contacts, and determining the dates," Nadiradze said.

Georgia has so far recorded 83 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 14 recovered patients, 4,505 quarantined, and 247 provided with in-patient care.
