Amiran Gamkrelidze: We are thinking about introducing the fourth dose

According to Amiran Gamkrelidze, the head of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health, 1 000 people have been vaccinated with four doses of the coronavirus vaccine in the country.

As he told reporters after the meeting of the Interagency Coordinating Council, it is highly likely that, like the third "booster" dose, a fourth dose will be needed.

"Approximately 1 000 people have been vaccinated with the fourth dose. These are mostly citizens who have been vaccinated with Sinopharm and Sinovac and are traveling to countries that have not yet recognized certain vaccines and are requesting FDA-approved vaccines. I think that at some point, it will be necessary to introduce the fourth dose. Israel has already decided on this," Amiran Gamkrelidze said.
