Cause of power outage determined

JSC Georgian State ElectroSystem has issued a statement in which it explains the cause of the power cut.

"Temporary malfunction of the 400 kV power transmission line "Meskheti," which connects Georgia's and Turkey's energy systems, has led to a suspension of import from Turkey, and most part of the country has been left without electricity.

A power supply is now being restored.

The Georgian State ElectroSystem apologizes for the inconvenience," the statement reads.
