Coronavirus updates: Daily test positivity rate at 2.13% in Georgia

The daily coronavirus test positivity rate is at 2.13%, according to StopCov.ge.

''The daily test positivity rate stands at 2.13%, 2.77% the last 14 days positivity rate, and 2.73% that of a week,'' the statement reads.

Georgia recorded 821 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours to bring the total tally to 351,249. 

Thirty-one patients died in the past 24 hours, with the death toll now standing at 4,982. 

The country registered 866 recoveries in a single day, bringing the total number to 335,895. 

Georgia reported its first coronavirus case on 26 February 2020. A state of emergency was declared on 21 March and universal quarantine restrictions enforced on 31 March.

The WHO confirmed the new coronavirus a pandemic on 11 March 2020. The coronavirus outbreak occurred in China in December 2019. On 21 January, the China-born virus was proved contagious and quarantine measures were implemented in two Chinese cities.
