Council of Europe official calls on Georgians to meet as soon as possible’

Tiny Kox, Head of the election observer delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), said that the Georgian parliament should meet as soon as possible and start working.

He stated it when commenting on Georgia’s 2020 parliamentary election.

“We, therefore, urge Georgia to meet, as soon as possible, our longstanding recommendations to improve the laws and regulations related to the oversight of campaign financing,’’ he stated.

In his words, the fact that Georgia managed to organize elections amid the pandemic demonstrates that this country is not ‘afraid’ of democracy.
