COVID-19 infects 97 Georgian health workers

A total of 97 health workers have so far tested positive for the novel virus in Georgia, with this making up 13% of the total case count, according to Amiran Gamkrelidze, the head of the Infectious Diseases Hospital.

"Around 10 or 20% of medical personnel have been infected by the virus worldwide. Georgia has 13%. We should be immensely grateful to our colleagues for their selflessness as all of them are perfectly well aware that risks for frontline health workers are high," Gamkrelidze declared.
