The employees of the MIA General Inspection arrested the Deputy Head of the Dmanisi Police Department.
He faces charges for the misuse of power.
“An investigation showed that the detainee, identified only as Sh.Z., misused his power and illegally detained one of the citizens for illegal possession of firearms,’’ the MIA statement reads.
The detainee faces five to eight years in jail. An investigation is in progress.
