Georgia's coronavirus infection statistics for March 13

Georgia has detected 344 new cases of the novel coronavirus infection, and the number of infected reached 274,721, StopCov.ge reports.

A total of 240 people recovered, with the total number hitting 268,004.

The virus claimed nine lives in the past 24 hours, and the number of the death toll equaled 3,643.

Georgia conducted 32,090 tests in the past 24 hours, including fast antigen tests equaling 21,945 and PCR tests – 10,145.

Test positivity rates are as follows:

Daily – 1.07%,

Over the past 14 days – 1.49%,

Over the past seven days – 1.55%.

Georgia observed the first case of the novel coronavirus infection on February 26, 2020.

The World Health Organization declared the pandemic on March 11.

The pneumonia-causing infection outbreak began in China in December 2019.

On January 21, 2020, China confirmed the virus's human-to-human transmission and declared a quarantine in its two cities.
