Georgia’s Kutaisi city celebrates Gviriloba feast

‘Gviriloba’ is celebrated in Georgia’s western city of Kutaisi today.

The city residents have been marking this day since the beginning of the 20th century.

It is associated with the charitable activities of a student Alexandra Chikovani. She, with her peers, collected chamomile (Gvirila) and sold them to help those suffering from Tuberculosis.
