Georgian doctor says mechanical ventilators not death sentence

Zurab Guruli, the Georgian doctor residing in the U.S., said that being connected to a ventilator should not be associated with a death sentence, as in some cases, this serves to improve patients' health condition.

"A timely decision on connecting a patient to a ventilator is vital and prevents irreversible deterioration of the lung tissue," Zurab Guruli said.

In Guruli's words, Georgia has seen cases when critical patients connected to a mechanical ventilator recovered.
