Georgian Vice PM appeals to citizens to avoid crowded areas

Deputy Prime Minister of Georgia Maia Tskitishvili calls upon citizens to avoid crowded areas unless urgent necessity arises and representatives of different businesses to abide by coronavirus restrictions.

In Tskitishvili's words, she was unable to inspect the situation herself, but social media photos showed that people have so far adhered to the introduced regulations. "People are inclined to shop in trade centers actively. We once again call upon them, including businesses, to strictly follow the regulations," she declared.

Malls, trade centers, and other stores, with the exception of grocery stores, have opened today.

Trade centers operate from 7 a.m.to 7 p.m. Restrictions have been eased in the country before 2 January.
