Health Minister Tikaradze names cause of Georgia's high COVID-19 death rate

According to Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze, Georgia's coronavirus mortality rate is high compared to that of other countries. She named unvaccinated citizens over 60 as the cause of high death rates.

In Tikaradze's words, 95% of deaths in Georgia account for unvaccinated citizens over 60, and death numbers are low in countries where 90% of citizens over 60 are vaccinated.

Tikaradze stressed that subjecting the health ministry to criticism only and refusing to provide it with support negatively affects the vaccination campaign in the country.
