The Health Ministry has released a statement, saying that the Mtavari Arkhi (Main Channel) has misled the public by spreading misinformation, according to which the cause of the late 17-year-old's death was coronavirus.
The statement says that on 3 December, at 03:24, 112 received a call, with the emergency crew reaching the destination in 13 minutes, at 03:37. Upon arriving there, the teenager was already dead.
Health workers say that the cause of the minor's death was not the new coronavirus. Correspondingly, the Mtavari Arkhi has disseminated misinformation to the public.
"The Ministry thanks health workers for their commitment and selfless dedication, and considers their intentional discretization unacceptable," the statement by the state agency reads.
