Ivane Chkhaidze, the medical director of the Iashvili Clinic, says that 10% of the total number of people infected with coronavirus in Georgia are children, which, according to him, is a very high figure.
Chkhaidze spoke about the infection of children at a press conference today and noted that the next few days are especially important.
"The coming days and weeks will be especially important in terms of hospitalization and lethality of children. If we consider the statistics of Georgia, according to which 10% of the total number of infected people in the country are children, it turns out that 150-200 children are infected every day. This is a very high rate," Chkhaidze said.
On July 22, 2 261 new coronavirus cases were confirmed in Georgia, with 18 people dead.
