MIA releases statement on detention of protesters

Two law breaking individuals have been detained on Kostava Avenue, according to the MIA. 

"Two individuals known only as G.B. (DOB 1987) and N.K. (DOB 1989) have been apprehended for they had disrupted public order and refused to adhere to lawful demands by the police. 

The aforementioned individuals have been detained over committing offences envisaged in articles 173 (refusal to adhere to lawful demands by the law enforcement agency) and 166 (hooliganism) of the Code of Administrative Offences of Georgia.

According to the preliminary information, firecrackers have been used on Kostava Avenue. 

The Ministry of Internal Affairs once again appeals to everyone to obey the law," reads the statement.
