Ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili's personal physician, Nikoloz Kipshidze, said that the former president's blood test results showed a major change in parameters, and doctors decided he needed a transfusion.
However, in Kipshidze's words, the prison treatment facility is not appropriate for similar procedures, and the ex-president needs to be transferred to a regular clinic.
''We tackled the critical situation today, and he is stable now; but no one knows what tomorrow will bring _ the situation may worsen again,'' the doctor said.
