Mortality rate for COVID-19 is sixfold or tenfold higher than for flu: Kulumbegov

Medical Doctor at the Center of Allergy and Immunology Bidzina Kulumbegov says that the novel coronavirus is far more dangerous than the seasonal flu and claims the lives of more people. In Kulumbegov's words, the seasonal flu kills around 0.1%. "As for COVID-19, everything is clear in this case. Today, 58 million cases and 1,300,000 deaths have been recorded. Obviously, these are not precise numbers, for we have not tested all patients, and no one can say anything for certain; however, coronavirus deaths range between 0.6 and 1%, with this implying that the mortality rate for COVID-19 is sixfold or tenfold higher than for flu," Kulumbegov declared.
