"Most cases of infections come from Bolnisi," – says Marina Ezugbaia, Clinical Director of Infection Disease Hospital. She notes that the increase of new cases cannot be directly linked to lifting restrictions.
"Most of the new cases come from Bolnisi; these are the contacts within the community. Hence, it cannot be linked to the restrictions release. We are talking about two villages in the Bolnisi region where we are testing people to identify all cases. It needs to be done to avoid the hazard of further spread. These are small underpopulated villages; thus, it is not difficult to test them all. It is a matter of time. The virus must not leave Bolnisi." – said Ezugbaia.
