NCDC head says around 17,000 AstraZeneca shots written off in Georgia

According to NCDC head Amiran Gamkrelidze, 17,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines have been written off after they remained unused in Georgia.

In Gamkrelidze's words, the demand for this vaccine was extremely low. ''In September, 3,900 doses expired, 13,500 doses in October, with about 17,000 doses remaining unused and written off,'' Gamkrelidze said.

The NCDC head says that Sinopharm and Sinovac vaccines do not expire before 2023, and Pfizer has a beyond-use date of three months.
