NCDC head: This is critical threshold

NCDC head Amiran Gamkrelidze has defined the coronavirus disease situation in Georgia as unfavorable.

In his words, Tbilisi has seen the highest coronavirus case numbers, but the situation is quote ''totally under control'' in the country.

''Unfortunately, in different regions of Georgia as well as Tbilisi, not many people wear facemasks. Per yesterday's data, 50% wear facemasks, which is a critical threshold,'' Gamkrelidze said, adding that any large social gathering is associated with increased risks and must be avoided.
