Novel virus kills sisters in Rustavi

Sisters Naili and Nana Iashaghashvili, 61 and 52, have reportedly died of the new coronavirus at the Rustavi Central Hospital.

Maia Razmadze, the clinic epidemiologist, says that one sister caught the virus from the other, with both of them transported to the clinic the same November day. First, Nana Iashaghasgvili passed, and Naili Iashaghashvili later, after two days.

The sisters' relatives say that they had diabetes. The virus caused acute respiratory failure, with this making saving the victims impossible. One of the deceased sister's spouse has also so far been in hospital.
