Pediatrician Chkaidze expects fifth coronavirus wave to be 'catastrophic' in Georgia

According to the Pediatrician and Director of Iashvili Children Hospital, Ivane Chkaidze, Georgia will have to pass through the fifth ''catastrophic'' coronavirus wave.

''If the number of infected citizens increases next weeks, and we will have more than 6,200 coronavirus patients daily, we can say that the fifth wave has hit Georgia, and this wave will be really catastrophic,'' Mr. Chkaidze declared.

Georgia recorded 4,009 coronavirus cases, 45 deaths, and 5,177 recoveries in the past 24 hours.
