Reinfections with COVID three times not confirmed in Georgia, says health official

Director-General of Infectious Diseases, AIDS and Clinical Immunology Research Center, Tengiz Tsertsvadze, said that Georgia has no confirmed cases of a person catching three COVID infections. However, in his words, one person falling ill with coronavirus thrice is theoretically possible. ''Reinfection indicates that a coronavirus patient failed to develop immunity or they caught a different COVID-19 variant,'' he stated.

Mr. Tsertsvadze appealed to the public to take all possible precautionary measures, including wearing a face mask, before herd immunity is achieved in the country.
