Scheme of quarantine for citizens returning to their homeland changing

"Those of our citizens returning to their homeland with a PCR test will no longer need to spend time in quarantine," the Prime Minister of Georgia, Giorgi Gakharia, said at a briefing after the government session.

According to him, the mentioned citizens will have the opportunity to move to 12-day self-isolation.

"As for quarantine areas, we have always said that quarantine space is the main tool to stop entry into the country and further spread. Of course, this is true, and it played a significant role in the first stage of the epidemic. We made the decision today to change the scheme of quarantine. Those of our citizens returning to their homeland with a PCR test will no longer need to spend time in quarantine. The mentioned citizens will have the opportunity to move to 12-day self-isolation. Those citizens who do not have a PCR test with them will be able to use the quarantine spaces the same way. It is how we try to bring more dynamics to the economy," Gakharia said.
