Tengiz Tsertsvadze, the head of Tbilisi's infectious diseases, Aids, and immunology research center, provides citizens with recommendations to be followed if contracting the novel coronavirus.

If one cannot undergo testing and shows symptoms, it is better for them to think that they have the coronavirus, as they will be safer in this case.

I would not advise the public to buy oxygen delivery devices, as, by doing so, I would push them to self-treatment. I am categorically against self-treatment: taking blood thinners, antibiotics, or other medication. If one can afford, they may, of course, buy an oxygen delivery device, but they should not pin their hopes on it only. If they suffer from breathing problems, they should be hospitalized immediately.

Body temperature lower than 35 C is mainly not dangerous in coronavirus patients. This is a temporary phenomenon, and if they take their temperature again, the thermometer will show it is back to normal. However, if they have such a low temperature for a long time, it may be a sign of a complication, namely, sepsis. In this case, it is dangerous," he said.
