''Rioni Gorge Guards'' are banging their hands against the police steel barricades in the Gumati village, Rioni gorge.
Protest organizer Varlam Goletiani has called upon the police to allow demonstrators to cross the barricades and head to Namakhvani.
''We appeal to the police to let us, peaceful people, walk on the road we have walked on our entire lives,'' he said, adding that the issue, which has caused opinion clashes, must be resolved through joint efforts.
Goletiani also addressed his adherents and called upon them to go to the barricades and protest without violence.
