Traffic banned from Georgia's some road sections

The Roads Department has issued a statement saying that adverse weather conditions have resulted in traffic restrictions on Georgia's some road sections.

"Trailers and semi-trailers have been banned from the Gudauri (Posta)-Kobi section of the Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Lars highway (the border with the Russian Federation), which is of international significance, while other modes of transport are permitted.

On the Mleta-Gudauri (Posta)-Kobi, Gudauri (Posta)-Kobi, and the Stepantsminda-Lars section, traffic flow will be possible in a non-stop mode, and only through avalanche protection tunnels on the Gudauri (Posta)-Kobi section.

The movement will be carried out under the direct supervision and coordination of the patrol police," the Roads Department says.
