Two detainees test positive for coronavirus in Georgia

Two inmates in the N8 prison quarantine area have been tested positive for the novel coronavirus, the Special Penitentiary Service reports.

The authority says that the newly-detained ones were in the quarantine area.

It reports that all the new detainees are subject to a 12-day quarantine and PCR testing afterward.

''The two people have been tested positive for the novel coronavirus due to the protocol-defined testing. The emergency brigade immediately transported them to the so-called COVID-clinic. They will be monitored via electronic bracelets,'' the penitentiary body reports.

The infected two detainees' health condition is stable.
