Two employees of Georgian Railway killed in accident

"Two employees of the Georgian Railway died, and one employee got burnt," the Georgian Railway releases a statement regarding the accident in Kutaisi.

"In the ninth lane, an accident occurred during the dismantling of the support structure of the high voltage transmission line on Tabukashvili Street, Kutaisi. Two employees of the Georgian Railway (electricians) died, and one employee (also an electrician) got burnt.

Georgian Railway expresses its condolences over the death and injury of employees. An investigation is underway into the accident. The company is cooperating with the investigation, which will determine the causes of the accident, with the Labor Security Service involved," the statement said.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs informed report.ge that the investigation launched under the third part of Article 240 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which stipulates killing due to negligence.
