Vassilis Maragos: Georgia's youth ecosystem is relatively relevant

"The youth's ecosystem, which Georgia is implementing at the regional level, is extremely relevant. Let us use this model elsewhere and expand EU programs that are active in Georgia," said Vassilis Maragos, the head of the department of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, and the Eastern Partnership (DG NEAR) at the end of the first day of the Eastern Partnership Summit.

Speaking at the Summit, Vassilis Maragos stressed the importance of the reform proposed by the Youth Agency for the creation of an ecosystem for the Georgian youth sector and thanked Georgia for its implementation, which is an excellent achievement for the country.

Rezo Charkviani, the head of the platform on behalf of Georgia, presented the Youth Agency's reform, which was developed according to the standards of the European Union and the Council of Europe and created an ecosystem of Georgia's youth. He also spoke about the specific areas of the ongoing reform that the agency is implementing to develop an ecosystem for the youth sector.

Rezo Charkviani also focused on the role of young people in building a modern competitive country and noted that youth was the main renewal resource of the country's human capital.

Representatives of the European Union and the Eastern Partnership countries - Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine, gathered within the summit framework. Due to pandemic for the first time, the summit takes place online and will be open to anyone worldwide.

The summit aims to promote dialogue between young people and makers of the politics and sets future visions and steps within the Eastern Partnership.
