"I understand that 112 and our hotline are not easy to reach, which is why everyone must know their family doctor's name and phone number," Amiran Gamkrelidze, the head of the NCDC, said.
In his words, the country has around 2,500 family doctors, with each of them rendering services to around 1,000 or 1,500 citizens.
"When you cannot reach 112, you must call your family doctors and follow their recommendations," Gamkrelidze said, adding that the ministry is exerting rigorous efforts to make medical services easily available for all.
