The 28th patient, who died of the novel coronavirus infection today, was under treatment in the New Infectious Hospital in Kutaisi, Imereti region in western Georgia.
The deceased woman is 59. She suffered from diabetes and pneumonia.
It is the third death in Kutaisi, caused by the coronavirus infection.
Georgia detected 296 new cases of the novel coronavirus infection, and the number of infected reached 4,960.
