Barcelona authorities to demolish Messi's Hotel

Spanish authorities in Barcelona have decided to demolish a hotel owned by Lionel Messi, the Argentine striker of "Paris Saint-Germain F.C." the Mirror writes.

The reason for the demolition of the 77-room building was non-compliance with city standards.

The building is located near the Barcelona Stadium - Camp Nou.

The Argentine has hotels in Ibiza and Mallorca. They are affiliated with the Majestic Hotel Group. In 2017, the player spent 30 million euros buying a residence in Barcelona.

Messi bought the hotel without knowing that the city government was already planning to demolish the building because it was in violation of construction norms.
