Georgian rower Alexandre Tsivtsivadze becomes world champion

Georgian rower Alexandre Tsivtsivadze won the title of world champion. At the World Championship in Portugal under-23, the Georgian athlete covered a distance of 5 000 meters in one minute and 55 seconds, which is the best result of the tournament.

Tsivtsivadze beat the closest follower, the Russian rower, by 27 seconds.

Georgian canoeing team under 23 won the second medal at the World Championship; Mariam Kedikashvili became the world vice-champion on September 4.
