The Tokyo Olympics organizers intend to reduce the number of athletes who will take part in the opening ceremony of the Olympics.
According to the original plan, 11 000 athletes from 200 countries should have attended the opening. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Organizing Committee intends to reduce their number. The International Olympic Committee estimates that about 6 000 athletes will attend the opening ceremony.
The Tokyo Olympics will be held from July 23 to August 8, 2021.
