A 100-carat diamond was sold for $ 14.2 million at Christie's, the auction house reports.
The D-colored diamond was cut from rough stone, which took a year and eight months to prepare and polish.
Before the auction, experts estimated the price of the diamond at 14-20 million.
It is the third D-colored diamond over 100 carats to be sold at Christie's auction in the last ten years.
