Fifteen people died after drinking counterfeit alcohol in Istanbul, while 60 more are at the hospital. According to the local media, they were trying to protect themselves from coronavirus by drinking.
As it turns out, those affected from Turkmenistan, first bought alcohol intended for outdoor use for disinfecting measures, but later decides to drink it. They got poisoned as a result.
Seven people were arrested for selling alcohol. The investigation is ongoing.
