Aliyev and Erdoğan put forth initiative to form new cooperation platform

At a joint press conference, Azerbaijani and Turkish leaders have put forward the initiative to create a new cooperation platform involving six countries.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that Turkey-Azerbaijan-Georgia, Azerbaijan-Iran-Russia, Turkey-Russia-Iran cooperation platforms exist at this point.

"We can combine all these platforms into one. If the Armenian government has come to the right conclusion after the war, will refuse to make baseless claims and focus on the future, they will also have the opportunity to join the platform. We are open to this," Aliyev declared.

Turkey's Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said that the new platform would contribute to deepening cooperation between the countries.

"With my brother Ilham Aliyev, I have discussed the possibility of forming the cooperation platform involving Azerbaijan, Turkey, Russia, Iran, Georgia, and Armenia if the latter desires so. This will be effective cooperation for the region's development," Erdoğan said.
