Azerbaijan offers Armenia to start bilateral talks on the border

"Restoring its territorial integrity, Azerbaijan has repeatedly expressed its determination to normalize relations with Armenia based on mutual recognition and respect for its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and inviolability of its internationally recognized borders. There is no alternative to building good neighborly relations on this basis to ensure long-term peace and stability in the region," Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov said at the 43rd Meeting of the BSEC Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs, local media reports.

There is an opportunity to build a relationship through the consistent implementation of the trilateral statement signed by the leaders of both sides.

According to him, Azerbaijan is currently building border control infrastructure along the state border:

"We offer Armenia to start bilateral discussions on border delimitation and demarcation. Azerbaijan expects a positive response from Armenia.

Hatred with revanchist rhetoric in Armenia against Azerbaijan is a matter of serious concern. The anti-Azerbaijani hate speech that unites the ruling and opposition politicians in Armenia threatens the fragile normalization process. Armenia must finally fulfill its obligations under international humanitarian law, as well as the tripartite declaration, and provide the minefield maps to prevent further human suffering," the Minister said.
