Azerbaijan receives territory illegally held by Armenia

Azerbaijan has received a territory with 12 houses, part of which is owned by Azerbaijan's Qubadli District, illegally held by Armenia (unlawfully linked to the Shurnukh village of Syunik province), Azerbaijan's media reports.

"Since 1990, the Armenian government has conquered Azerbaijan's border villages, with Armenians illegally settling on these territories. After a 44-day battle, Armenia is forced to cede the lands to Azerbaijan. The withdrawal of Armenians from parts of the Shurnukh village, which is Azerbaijan's land, meets the agreement conditions," Azerbaijan's media says.

In connection with this, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that Armenians are retreating so that Armenia is within its internationally recognized borders.
